چکیده

Most of the proposed security protocols for routing optimization in Mobile IPv6, including the one in the standard, depend on the special relationship between the home network and the mobile node. In this paper, we present a new protocol that does not depend on the security relationship between the home network and the mobile. The security of the protocol is analyzed and its performance evaluation is given. The results of performance evaluation show that our protocol achieves strong security and at the same time requires minimal computational overhead compared to return routability

Securing Binding Updates in Routing Optimizaton of Mobile IPv6

Mobile IPv6 (mipv6) is an internet protocol that allows mobile nodes to have continuous network connectivity to the internet without changing their ip addresses while moving to other networks. The packets sent from Correspondent Node (CN) to a Mobile Node (MN) go first through the mobile node’s Home Agent (HA). Then the HA tunnels them to the MN’s foreign network. This process of delivering the...

Routing optimization security in mobile IPv6

Route Optimization (RO) in Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) provides a mobile node (MN) the opportunity to eliminate the inefficient triangle routing with its corresponding node (CN) and therefore, greatly improves the network performance. However, in doing so, MIPv6 introduces several security vulnerabilities, and among them a major concern is the authentication and authorization of Binding Updates (BUs) d...

Route Optimization with MAP-Based Enhancement in Mobile Networks

The development of wireless network technology and user demands for mobility support have motivated the IETF to introduce mobile IP, mobile IPv6, and its extension, the network mobility (NEMO) basic support protocol. In the NEMO environment, mobile networks form a nested structure. Nested mobile networks based on NEMO basic support (NBS) protocol have the pinball routing problem because packets...

Hierarchical Route Optimization Scheme Using Advanced Binding Update List (BUL+) for Nested Mobile Networks

Supporting networks that roam as one unit is needed to provide the transparency of Internet in mobile frameworks, like cars, trains, planes, buses, etc. To accomplish this, NEMO (Network Mobility) Basic Support protocol has been proposed and developed by Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). Although, it achieves continuous, optimal and secure communication to and from all nodes, it still suf...

AHS: Advanced Handoff Scheme for Nested Mobile Networks

Network Mobility Basic Support protocol (NEMO Basic) that is designed to offer network mobility is not efficient to offer low latency handoff in the case of nested mobile networks since fairly sub-optimal routing is utilized. A mobile network is composed of Mobile Network Nodes (MNNs) and a Mobile Router (MR). Route optimization for MNNs in IPv6 mobile networks is performed with Hierarchical Pr...
